Christianity Explored Courses

Christianity Explored does exactly what it says on the tin.  It is an informal course for people who'd like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics.  It explores who Jesus is, what His aims are, and what it means to follow Him.

You're not asked to pray sing, or read aloud, and you can ask any question you like.  Or, if you prefer, you can come along and simply listen.

What Happens?

We begin by having supper together.  This is an important part of the course, as well as being delicious!  No worries for cooking or washing up for eight Thursdays!  This is a good chance to relax and get to know others on the course.

At each session there is a short DVD (lasting about 20 minutes) where some aspect of the Christian faith is presented.  Then, in small groups, there is the chance to discuss, debate or even disagree with what has been said.  No comment is out of bounds!

Christianity Explored looks primarily at the eye-witness account of Jesus' life written by the apostle, Mark.  Everyone coming on the course is given a copy of Mark's gospel as well as the Christianity Explored study guide and is encouraged to read the gospel over the duration of the course.

How Long?

The course lasts for eight weeks with a break for half term.  If you are unsure about committing for eight weeks, why not come to the first two?  If you would prefer not to continue, no-one will hassle you.  The evening begins at 7.30 p.m. with dinner and we finish with tea and coffee at 9.30 p.m.  There is also an Away Day (10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.) on a Saturday towards the end of the course.
